Creemore and New Lowell in Senior Finals

August 27, 2008

The Creemore Braves and New Lowell Knights will face off in the Championship Series of the North Dufferin League.

The same two teams met last season in the finals where Creemore won their third consecutive title in six games.

While last year New Lowell finished seventh in the League, compared to Creemore's first place standing, this year both teams were at the top in the West Division. Creemore finished the regular season with 18 wins and four losses, good for first place, while New Lowell finished second with 17 wins, four losses and one tie.

If games played during the regular season have any indication on how the finals might shape up, the Knights defeated the Braves both times they met with scores of 6-2 and 4-1.

New Lowell made it to the finals defeating the Ivy Leafs in the first round and the Bolton Brewers in the second. Creemore beat the Lisle Astros during first round play and the Barrie Red Sox in the second round.

The series will begin September 6 and will be a best of seven affair.
