The York Simcoe Baseball Association held their annual awards event yesterday (Sunday) at the Nottawasaga Inn Resort in Alliston, with Brett Chater of the Bolton Brewers winning the Player of the Year award (Bantam and above).
Chater was nominated for his outstanding season that included four regular season awards in the North Dufferin Baseball League, a staple as leadoff batter and shortstop, relief pitcher and his work with team fundraising and field preparation for games.
League secretary Scott Anderson accepted the award from YSBA Rep. General Manager Cathy Lamarucciola on behalf of Chater, as he was unable to attend the award presentation.
