New Lowell Knights Junior OBA Finalists

August 22, 2016

The New Lowell junior Knights lost in the championship game at provincial championships to Port Dover 2-0 Sunday.

The junior team in the North Dufferin Baseball League, who recently won the junior league championship, were in Port Lambton for the Ontario Baseball Association provincial 'A' tournament over the weekend.

The Knights won the early contests with victories over North Woodslee 10-5, Halton Hills 4-2, Harrow 19-4 and Corunna 10-0.

Moving into semi-final play on Sunday morning, New Lowell met London West and won a close 3-1 ball game to continue the unbeaten streak.

The Knights faced the 4-1 team from Port Dover in the championship but lost 5-3. As New Lowell suffered only their first loss of the double elimination format, this set up a second, do-or-die game between the two teams. Port Dover took the championship title with a 2-0 win.
