Schedules set for second round

Second round pairings for the postseason of the North Dufferin Baseball League are the Bolton Brewers versus Barrie Angels and New Lowell Knights against Creemore Padres.

For Barrie this marks the first time they've advanced to the second round in their team's history. Over their nine seasons they have made the playoffs five times and this year moved on after a contentious series with the Clearview Orioles in the first round. Barrie took the series two games to one.

Creemore is also in the same boat as the team has not made the second round since 2011. They beat the Midland Mariners two games to one.

Both New Lowell and Bolton have been perennial teams in the postseason. Bolton last won a championship in 2017 while New Lowell won in 2019 and are the defending champions as there was no 2020 season.

The Brewers defeated the Mansfield Cubs in two games and the Knights beat the Ivy Leafs in two games.

Both series have the same playing dates for the schedule.

Creemore visits New Lowell on Thursday (Sept. 9) at 6 p.m. followed by Game 2 in Creemore on Friday (Sept. 10), also at 6 p.m. If needed the third game is on Sunday (Sept. 12) in New Lowell at 1 p.m.

Bolton hosts Barrie for Game 1 on Thursday (Sept. 9) at 7:30 p.m. The second game is in Barrie on Friday (Sept. 10) at 7:30 p.m. and if necessary a third game is set for Sunday (Sept. 12) at 1 p.m.
